Regaining my Balance

After a week of sickness and then a week of vacationing, I was in desperate need to get back to my typical routine. I decided today would be the day to get back to my normal way of living. I didn't think my day would be that blog worthy, but then I read Miss Snackface's post on balance. I totally agree with her opinion that although balance is something we often strive for, it's different for everyone.

Since I devoted today to regaining balance, I decided I would share it with all of you.

My idea of regaining balance begins with a delectable breakfast. Today it was especially challenging because we have hardly any food in my house.

corn flizzles + Kashi Honey Sunshine + almond milk
During my junior year of high school I stopped eating breakfast. Worst decision I have ever made. Now, I can't live with out my morning meal.

Regaining balance also comes in the form of getting down to business- the business of my future that is.

Before I write something, I have to handwrite an outline. I usually do this so I don't forget any of my ideas. Ironically, once the outline is complete I never look at it again.

Regaining balance also comes with stressful thinking about the next few months/future of my life. This is remedied by calling on my English heritage.

Vanilla Caramel Truffle Lipton and Snowman
Tea. Not too hot with extra creamer. Calms me right down.

Regaining balance also means eating normal small meals at normal times of the day. At 12:00pm I made lunch. Still no food in the house, so I had to get creative.

To start: Chips and Sals. Never fails me.

Classic
To end: Smoothie in a bowl.

Van. almond milk, frozen org. berries, protein powda, small spoon of fro yo, ice

Regaining balance includes skipping a workout to go to the store with Mums to purchase real food. This calls for an outfit change.

I balanced my otherwise boring jeans and t-shirt 'fit with zebra print sparkly flats.

Regaining balance always includes snacking. Granola bars are perf for that. Luckily, we had about 10 different varieties in my house.

Special K love.
Normally, I prefer organic or "all-natural" bars. Sometimes, you just need a Special K.

Regaining balance also includes spending time eating a home-cooked meal with the fam.

grilled veg, crusty bread, bbq grilled chicken, Alexia sweet potato fries
Regaining balance also includes taking advantage of the Florida weather and grilling out in the middle of January.

Balance. It's something we all strive for but it's important to remember that balance is not a "balanced" word. It's different for everyone. And that is what makes finding/setting/regaining/creating your balance so awesome.

How do you regain balance?

  1. Balance definitely is different for everyone... it takes work but we all gotta find it somehow! And I can never go without breakfast either, it's my favorite meal of the day :)
